A Mahapanchayat has been called in Nagarfort, Tonk on Sunday (29 December) to demand the release of Naresh Meena. Supporters have started gathering from nearby districts a day before. Supporters claim that about one lakh people will attend this Mahapanchayat. Meanwhile, the district administration has made strong arrangements for law and order. The Collector and SP say that law and order will not be allowed to deteriorate under any circumstances.

Collector Samya Jha said that permission for the meeting has been given with conditions. Adequate force is being deployed. Tonk Superintendent of Police Vikas Sagwan says every person coming to the meeting will be monitored. Checking points have been made at various places on the roads. From noting the number of vehicles to videography would be done. The meeting will be monitored by drones. Anything that spreads violence, action would be taken strictly against them.

It is worth mentioning here that during the by-election on the Deoli-Uniyara seat on November 13, the villagers in Samarwata boycotted the voting over various demands. After this, the independent candidate Naresh Meena, who reached there, slapped the SDM after an argument. After the incident, demonstrations started demanding the arrest of Naresh Meena. The next day, Naresh Meena was arrested by heavy police force. Naresh Meena, who was brought before the court, was dispatched to jail. His supporters here are demanding his release.
