Kusha Kapila Opens Up About Divorce: Mother Faced Social Criticism, Now Moving Forward with Positivity

Actress, Comedian and Internet Celebrity Kusha Kapila who tied the knot in 2017 with actor Zorawar Ahluwalia, celebrated their divorce this 2023. After the divorce, Kusha admitted that she had known her mother’s social life would take a hit. As it turned out that her concerns were true and society mocked and taunted both Kusha and her mother.

Facing Social Criticism

Following Kusha's divorce, people judged her mother, Rita, so fiercely that visiting temples around became tough. Kusha, recently opened up during a conversation on Be A Parent Yaar which airs on We Are Yuvaa’s YouTube channel, about the time after her divorce. But she said she endured relentless trolling on social media, remaining silent amid the negativity.

A Challenging Phase

Kusha and her mother said the last two years have been incredibly hard but also a period that has made them strong. Kusha’s mother also said they were patient through those difficult days. The phase was hard, said Kusha, but it’s important to not pay too much attention to what other people will think.

A Heartbreaking Incident

Kusha’s mother recalled a painful memory of how she began visiting temples early morning so people can’t ask questions. But one day, someone at the temple asked the woman about the divorce directly and Rita got hurt. She cried on her way back home but her husband consoled her, saying life is configured with ups and downs. He asked relatives not to compound their distress. Then, someone meets the woman at the temple, and asks her why she thinks she needs to talk like that.' The woman apologized for realizing her mistake.

Healing Over Time

The negativity faded with time, and Kusha is now being praised for her work, Kusha’s mother said. During the divorce, Kusha 's biggest concern was her mother’s social life but , both have managed to move forward. And she concluded that the key, in the end, is to focus on work and be opposed to negativity.
