Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, in a statement on Sunday, said that illegal immigrants numbering in millions cannot settle in the country and electoral politics cannot fall prey to demographic dislocations. Vice President appealed to youth to counter anti-national rhetoric. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed concern over Parliament disruptions at a record level in a long, long period of time. Speaking at the World Forum of Accountants (WOFA) conference in the national capital, he said that the youth should be concerned about the existential challenges.

He said, 'Our country cannot tolerate millions of illegal immigrants... We cannot allow our electoral politics to be affected by demographic dislocations and earthquakes. These are the things that matter to you because these are the challenges that you have to respond to collectively.' Without elaborating, Vice President Dhankhar said, 'I have no doubt about it... it is said, a hint is enough for the wise'.

The Vice President expressed concern that some people and institutions are not happy with the country's development journey, he also said that there is a trend of creating sensationalism and viewpoints. He said, 'In viewpoints, Indianness is forgotten, nationalism is forgotten, national interest is forgotten.' Appealing to the youth, he said that 'the power to neutralize these anti-national viewpoints and defeat the forces hostile to India is in their hands.'

At a conference organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Vice President stressed that there is a need to imbibe the spirit of economic nationalism as such an approach will be beneficial for the economy. He said that Indian chartered accountants and chartered accountant firms should occupy a global position.
