According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Indian market for aviation is becoming stronger with growing connectivity, network, and airport infrastructure. The aviation market of India is strengthening very much due to the rise of robust airlines in India.
At a program organized in Delhi, the Association's Country Director for India, Nepal, and Bhutan, Amitabh Khosla, said, "We are also seeing a significant increase in airport infrastructure. This provides a good foundation. A foundation on which India will build further. We have had discussions with some of the country's oil companies. This has revealed that we are expecting Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production in India by 2026."
IATA represents around 350 airlines, accounting for more than 80 per cent of global air traffic. The association will also hold its annual general meeting in India for the first time in 42 years. India's aviation industry directly employs 3,69,700 people and contributes $5.6 billion to the GDP. Overall, it contributes 77 lakh jobs and $53.6 billion.
