India achieved a new record in digital payment, reached 46 percent share in global transactions

India has once again achieved the top ranking globally in digital payments. In 2022, 46 percent of the total digital real-time payments in the world took place in India. This is more than the total transactions in the four countries that come after India in the ranking.
According to data released by the Government of India, a total of 89.5 million real-time digital transactions took place in India in 2022, which is the highest in the world.
Experts from RBI told ANI that India has achieved a new record in value and volume of digital payments, which shows the credibility of the Indian payment system.
It was tweeted by MyGovIndia that India continues to dominate digital payments. India is moving towards a cashless economy due to the widespread adoption of digital payments.
India tops the list with 89.5 million real-time payments. After this, Brazil is second with 29.2 million, China is third with 17.6 million, Thailand is fourth with 16.5 million and South Korea is fifth with 8 million.
The biggest credit for making digital payments successful in India goes to UPI, which was launched in 2016.
Earlier this year, it was said by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that India has become number one in the world in digital payments and this is benefiting the rural economy.
