On the second day of Navratri, almost 38 thousand pilgrims visited the Maa Vijayasan Devi Mandir in Salkanpur. On Monday, another objectionable video of the ropeway of Salkanpur Devi Mandir has come to light too. Viral on social media – Two boys can be seen in the video sitting on the top of the bogie of the ropeway ignoring the safety rules. The police took cognizance after the video turned viral and rebuked the operator of the ropeway.
The operator of the ropeway claims that they were the staff members who used to look after the ropeway, they were doing routine checking. According to the information, there is a crowd on the ropeway due to the festival of Navratri. The ropeway functions from 4 am to 10 pm, almost 900 pilgrims go and come to the Devi temple campus through the ropeway in a day. The cost of the ropeway per person is Rs 120, 6 persons sit in one bogie.
The in-charge of Salkanpur Devi Mandir Ropeway Raju Srivastava claims that the ropeway is checked every hour in the security check in the festival time. The video is from Sunday, the staff members were doing routine checking. Srivastava claims that the staff members on the top of the bogie were wearing safety belts. Budni SDOP Ravi Sharma informed that the operator of the ropeway has been instructed not to do routine checking without safety precautions.
Traffic running at normal speed: The process of devotees arriving for the darshan and worship of Maa Vijayasan Devi starts from early morning. The administration has made strong arrangements so that the devotees do not face any kind of problem in worship and darshan. Due to adequate parking, the traffic has been smooth. People were seen commuting throughout the day on Monday. Adequate police force has been deployed for traffic control. The police are continuously broadcasting instructions with the help of loudspeakers so that there is no traffic jam.
A health camp has been set up for health checkup in the temple premises. On Monday, about 80 people got tested. Most of the patients had gone for checkup as they were feeling nervous due to the sun. A help desk has also been set up by the administration in the temple premises, with the help of which people are able to move around in the temple premises. A temporary bus stand has been built for parking the buses coming from outside for the Salkanpur temple, in which the buses are being parked. Taxi vehicles authorized by the committee have been run for the convenience of the devotees.
