India's first innings was reduced to 445 runs in the second session of the third Test between India and England in Rajkot on the second day of play. Sarfaraz scored a half-century and Rohit Sharma and Jadeja scored hundreds for India. Rehan Ahmed claimed two wickets and Mark Wood claimed four for England.

After winning the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma decided to bat first, but the team got off to a rough start. Yashasvi Jaiswal fell victim to Mark Wood for 10 runs in the fourth over alone. Following this, Wood dealt India a second blow at 24 when he got Shubhman Gill (0) caught by Fox. In the ninth over, Tom Hartley gave the third blow by sending Rajat Patidar (5) to the pavilion on the score of 33.

Along with Ravindra Jadeja, captain Rohit Sharma took over the innings after India lost by three wickets at just 33 runs. Together, they added 204 runs for the fourth wicket. Rohit Sharma used 14 fours and three sixes to score 131 off 196 balls. By getting Rohit Sharma apprehended by Stokes, Mark Wood made him his third victim.

Unfortunately, Sarfaraz Khan, making his debut, was run out on 62 runs after reaching his half-century in 48 balls. At 314 runs, India's fifth wicket fell in this manner. India amassed 326 runs for five wickets on the opening day. Anderson gave the sixth blow to India in the form of Kuldeep Yadav (4) at a score of 331 on the very first session of the second day on Friday.

On the score of 331, Joe Root in the form of Ravindra Jadeja gave the seventh blow. Jadeja used two sixes and nine fours to score 112 runs in 225 balls. Dhruv Jurel and Ashwin then elevated India's score above 400. Ashwin claimed India's eighth wicket at a score of 408. Following an innings of 37 runs in 89 balls from Ashwin, Dhruv Jurel claimed India's ninth wicket at 415. After this, India's last wicket fell in the form of Jasprit Bumrah (26) at the score of 445.
