ICC has fined West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph
Alzarri Joseph fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct: ICC has fined West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph for getting into a fight and misbehaving with the umpire, and has also added a demerit point to his disciplinary record.



West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been fined 25 percent of his match fee. He was found guilty for abusing a match official during the first ODI against Bangladesh which is violating Level 1 of the Code of Conduct by the ICC.
Under Article 2.3 of the ICC Code of Conduct, a player is not allowed to use obscene language on the field. A demerit point has been added to Joseph's disciplinary record, which was his first offense in a period of 24 months.
Joseph has accepted the punishment proposed by Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees. Therefore there was no need for a formal hearing. He was accused by on-field umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Leslie Reifer, third umpire Asif Yakub, and fourth umpire Gregory Brathwaite. The minimum penalty for a Level 1 violation is an official reprimand, the maximum penalty is 50 percent of the player's match fee and one or two demerit points.
