According to the police, till now cases of heroin being found in the district have been reported only in the border area adjoining Pakistan, but after Operation Sindoor, strictness has been increased in the border area. In such a situation, the smugglers chose another route. This is probably the first time that such a large consignment of heroin was being prepared to be transported from Punjab to Sri Ganganagar by road. A Swift car and a motorcycle have also been seized from the accused. They were being used in smuggling and other crimes. Many important information has come to light during interrogation.
