Tech giant Google will make a settlement payment of $1.4 billion to the US state of Texas. The company has agreed to pay to settle the claim. Meanwhile, previously, Texas had taken Google to court for using users' information in an unauthorized manner. The Texas State Attorney General provided this information on Friday.
Attorney General Ken Paxton said that this settlement is a message to tech companies that we will not let them make money by selling our rights and freedom.
Paxton said that in Texas, big tech companies are not above the law. For years, Google used people's activities, personal searches, and even their voice prints and facial geometry for its products and services.
