Sundar Pichai has come on an India tour after a long gap of 5 years. Recently Google was fined Rs 2,274 crore by the Competition Commission of India for abuse of its dominant position.
According to a report in the New York Times, Google is looking to shift half the manufacturing of Pixel 7 phones from Foxconn in China to Vietnam. However, he has also held talks with India. If the negotiations are successful, Google will be the third mobile device maker among majors after Apple and Samsung to use India as an export-centric manufacturing hub.
