Due to sluggishness in foreign markets, a fall of Rs 400 was recorded in the price of gold in Delhi's bullion market. According to HDFC Securities, the price of gold per ten grams was recorded at Rs 65,950. Silver also fell by Rs 600 to Rs 75,300 per kg.

Senior commodity analyst at HDFC Securities Saumil Gandhi reported that 24-carat gold prices were trading at Rs 65,950 per 10 grammes in the Delhi markets, down Rs 400 from the previous close. Gold was down $17 from its previous close on Comex, trading at US$2,160 an ounce in foreign markets.

According to Saumil Gandhi, the market's hopes for a US Federal Reserve monetary policy easing in the upcoming months were dashed by higher-than-expected US inflation data on Wednesday, which caused gold prices to drop. In the previous trade, silver had closed at US$24.44 an ounce, but it also dropped to US$24.22 an ounce.
