Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed the need for constructive debate and dialogue in Parliament and said that the era of disruption should end and make way for meaningful discussion. His remarks came before the start of the budget session of Parliament.

Dhankhar, during a speech at the 33rd National Commission for Women's Foundation Day, mentioned that actually, the country requires an opposition that is both cooperative and constructive in nature.

Highlighting the importance of a cooperative opposition, the Rajya Sabha Chairman said, "Now there should be no disruption or obstruction in this Parliament but more debate, dialogue, discussion, deliberation." Expressing his views on women's empowerment, he praised the recent reservation for women in the legislature and called it a historic achievement.

The Vice President said, "Now we have one-third reservation for women." The Vice President emphasized that India's progress is incomplete without the active contribution of women.

Highlighting the Women's Commission role, Dhankhar appealed to the Commission to lay an emphasis on information dissemination and positive thinking over sensationalism. He appreciated Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for creating a record in budget reading and becoming an inspirer for female leaders.

He said that women will drive India's journey towards becoming a developed nation. He said that India's rapid development has made it the most ambitious nation in the world.
