From October 1, you will not be able to ask for money from friends and relatives, NPCI will stop the facility to prevent fraud
UPI: NPCI said in a circular issued on July 29, from October 1, 2025, the process of P2P collection will not be allowed in UPI. This facility is used to send requests for money to other UPI app users. This reminds them to share the amount. However, this facility is being used to defraud UPI users.

To combat financial fraud, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) will discontinue the facility for requesting money through the app. Banks and payment apps have been instructed to stop the collection feature between individuals (P2P), i.e., payment requests via UPI, starting October 1.
NPCI stated in a circular issued on July 29 that, from October 1, 2025, P2P collection in UPI will be prohibited. This feature allows users to send payment requests to other UPI app users, prompting them to share the amount. However, it has been exploited for fraudulent activities against UPI users. Currently, a maximum of Rs 2,000 can be requested from an individual at a time, with a cap of 50 successful transactions per day. Rahul Jain, Chief Financial Officer of NTT Data Payment Services India, mentioned that this change will significantly reduce fraud. Going forward, all P2P transactions will be initiated by the payer, who will need to scan a QR code.
The annual Fastag pass for private cars, jeeps, and vans at Rs 3,000 will be available from Friday. This pass permits the holder to cross toll plazas up to 200 times annually.
The Ministry of Road Transport has provided the pass activation link on the Highway Yatra app. The activation link will soon be accessible on the NHAI and Ministry of Road Transport websites. The toll pass is valid only for non-commercial private vehicles. On closed toll routes, such as the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, one trip includes both entry and exit; on open routes, like Delhi-Chandigarh, each toll plaza counts as a separate trip.
The pass can be recharged after completing 200 trips. Customers who already have a Fastag do not need to purchase a new one. The pass is valid only on national highways and expressways. Fastag automatically deducts toll fees via RFID technology. Notably, as of December 1, 2024, over 10.1 crore Fastags have been issued.
