Former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan told Rahul Gandhi a sensible man

Terming Rahul Gandhi's 'Pappu' image as unfortunate, former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan said he is a smart man. He said that I have spent almost a decade interacting with him on many fronts. He is not a 'Pappu' (fool) by any means. He is a smart, young and curious person.
Speaking to India Today on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Raghuram Rajan said, "According to me a person should have the basic risk appetite and the ability to assess them and have a good understanding, and I think Rahul Gandhi has this ability and understanding.
In criticism of the economic policies of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Raghuram Rajan said that he was also critical of the Congress government led by Manmohan Singh. On speculations of joining politics, Raghuram Rajan said that I joined Bharat Jodo Yatra because I stand for the values of Yatra. I am not joining any political party.
Raghuram Rajan participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress party in Rajasthan last month. Raghuram also accompanied Rahul Gandhi for some time on Thursday during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. During this, Rahul Gandhi interviewed Raghuram during the rest of the journey.
In the interview, Raghuram said that the country is getting poorer and poorer and richer and richer. Raghuram said that the rich whose work was being done online during Kovid became richer, but those who had to go to the factory and work remained at home. He got neither a salary nor a bonus. Job is gone, so separate. Overall, the lower middle-class people suffered the most.
