Fast bowler Ellis worked as a labourer at the construction site: had to work as a salesman

Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis was the player of the match on Wednesday between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. Ellis, who once worked as a labourer, took 4 wickets for Rajasthan.
In recent years, Ellis has made a name for himself in many cricket leagues of the world due to his performance. He also got a chance to play for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Australian Big Bash League and the London Spirits in the English League The Hundred. However, his journey has not been that easy. He has faced many difficulties to fulfill his dreams.
Despite playing consistently good cricket, at the age of 22, he was not able to make a place in Australia's team New South Wales. After this, he settled in Tasmania to earn his living from cricket. At that time he neither had any contract nor a job. He worked day and night to prove his critics wrong. However, he worked multiple jobs to meet the expenses.
He had to work five jobs during that time. Ellis worked as a labourer on a construction site, and as a landscaping worker. He worked as a house mover, but according to Ellis, he had the most trouble as a salesman. He used to go from house to house selling goods. He explains, 'I have done many boring and bad jobs. But, knocking on people's doors as a salesman was the worst.
I used to go to everyone's house in the morning. At that time mostly those people would be those who are sick or who have children. In such a situation, people used to shut the door in my face in the morning getting upset. I used to do that job for eight hours a day only to have the gate closed in my face.' He says that working at a construction site as a labourer was also difficult.
Training as a bowler and then working as a labourer used to exhaust the body. He says he chose to work as a labourer because it used to finish before dusk and he had plenty of time to train with Tasmania.
Ellis' career has revolved around luck. He got a chance to play for Australia when Kane Richardson got injured against India. Against Rajasthan also, he got a chance to play only when Rabada was not ready for the match.
