Congress Alleges BJP ‘Stealing Votes’ Under Voter List Revision Program
Politics has heated up in Rajasthan over SIR. Congress accused the BJP of vote theft and delaying Panchayat elections, while the BJP accused Congress of being the real vote thief. Meanwhile, geo-mapping of 70.55% of voters has been completed, with the total number of voters exceeding 54.8 million.
A series of political accusations and counter-accusations has begun with the announcement of the Voter List Revision Program (SIR) in Rajasthan. Congress is alleging that the BJP is trying to steal votes under the pretext of SIR. The BJP retaliated by calling Congress the vote thief.
Meanwhile, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara stated that Congress has so far appointed 51,000 BLAs to get people to fill out SIR forms. He said that within two days, every booth will have a Congress Party BLA, and observers will be appointed to monitor the SIRs in all 200 assembly constituencies. These observers will prevent the BJP's dishonesty in their respective areas. How long will the BJP government postpone elections? The government will have to conduct Panchayat Raj and Municipal elections, and that will expose the BJP's true colors before the public, and their false facade will fall off. How long will the BJP run the government through the bureaucracy?
Meanwhile, BJP State President Madan Rathod, responding to Dotasara's allegations, said that every time the name of an 18-year-old youth is added, the name of a deceased person is deleted. And you have stolen votes many times. Who defeated Baba Saheb Ambedkar? You defeated him. How did you prepare the list? This India is not a dharamshala where you can make people from Bangladesh and Rohingya voters to win elections. They are not the ones who will protect this land.
An update of voter data has been released in Rajasthan under the Special Revision of Electoral Rolls (SIR). As of October 27, 2025, a total of 54.88 million voters are registered in the state. According to the Chief Electoral Officer's office, 70.55% of the geo-mapping of the 2002 and 2025 voter lists has been completed. A survey conducted through the BLO app found that 79.32% of voters are over 40 years of age, while 22.22% are under 40. The Election Department stated that this data is part of the ongoing special revision process across the state, under which the work of updating and verifying the voter list is progressing rapidly.
