As the impact of the Western Disturbance has passed, the cold winds have started to blow in Rajasthan once again. The cold weather conditions have increased with the further reduction in the minimum night temperature. The thick fog is affecting the regular activities in the Bikaner zone and other surrounding areas by delaying several trains and flights.

Sriganganagar has recorded its coldest day because of the fog. The maximum at this place is recorded at 20.3° C, which is the lowest ever. Dense fog alert has been issued by the Meteorology Centre, Jaipur, at several districts today also. In the last 24 hours, dense fog has engulfed Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, and Jaisalmer. Northerly winds have increased the night chill in many areas, including Shekhawati. Fatehpur recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, the lowest in the state. Karauli recorded a minimum temperature of 5.9 degrees Celsius and Dausa recorded a low of 6.2 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in Ganganagar, Bikaner, and Hanumangarh on December 17. However, the weather is expected to clear and the fog's impact will subside by December 18. Following this, a new western disturbance will become active on December 18, which could bring light clouds to Bikaner and Jaisalmer between December 19 and 22.

The Jaipur Meteorological Center has also issued a dense fog alert for several national highways passing through the state. Traffic had to be diverted on the national highways passing through Bikaner on Tuesday morning due to dense fog. Dense fog has severely reduced road visibility. Bikaner and Hanumangarh were the worst affected, with visibility dropping below 50 meters.
