The world's leading tech company Microsoft, is once more set to hold a massive layoff. The company provided a confirmation through a statement on Wednesday that it has been conducting layoffs of its 9,100 employees. This is calculated as the company's highest-ever layoff since 2023. Earlier in May and June also, Microsoft laid off thousands of employees.
According to Microsoft, this layoff is about 4% of the total employees of the company. At present, Microsoft has about 2.28 lakh employees worldwide. The company has not yet given any clear information on how many of these people are from the Washington office in the US.
Microsoft had also done layoffs in two phases in May and June. During that time, about 6,000 employees were shown the way out. Out of this, 2,300 employees are said to be from Washington. Now once again the layoffs in July have increased the restlessness inside and outside the company.
The company said that it wants to make its work more effective by reducing the number of its employees. This decision has been taken to reduce the recession in the market, cut costs and maintain profits. This series of layoffs has been going on continuously in the tech sector for some time now.
