Infosys- Ikea $100 million deal, 'three year long journey converted in strategic partnership' mailed by Infosys

Founded in 1981, Pune Infosys is an Indian multinational information technology company that provides business consulting and outsourcing services. The company has established 13 subsidiaries across the globe, with more than 343k employees working. 

Whereas Ikea is an swedish multinational conglomerate that designs and sells various goods and home services, founded in 1943 in Sweden Ikea is the world's largest furniture company, with 422 stores in more than 50 markets. 

This five year contract between Infosys and Ikea will be providing service task, IT services management for 1,70,000 employees and 2,60,000 devices across 19 languages. Infosys mail quoted, "It has been a three year long journey started with cold calling and some initial connections, resulted in this strategic partnership". A total of 350 Ikea positions will be affected in China, France, Germany, India, Poland, Sweden and US. These workers will transfer to Infosys according to the deal. Commenting on the deal the mail from Infosys also showed" We are also taking the partnership approach to the next level of sharing risk and rewards and delivering a transformation roadmap with 36 transformation projects committed to be delivered as part of this partnership.
