Traffic ban on NH-58 and Delhi-Meerut Expressway for 14 days, will start on July 22
Traffic: In view of the Kanwar Yatra held every year in the month of Sawan, the Delhi Traffic Police has made several announcements regarding the traffic system to control the incoming crowd of devotees.

The movement of vehicles on National Highway 58 (NH-58) and Delhi-Meerut Expressway will be stopped in a phased manner from July 22 to August 4.
Additional Director General of Police, Meerut region, Dhruv Kant Thakur chaired a meeting with officials of 14 districts of western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Delhi to finalize the traffic management plan. The purpose of the discussion was to ensure smooth travel for the passengers during the Kanwar Yatra. In which a large number of devotees are expected to come.
Heavy vehicles will not be allowed on NH-58 and Delhi-Meerut Expressway from July 22. This restriction will be further tightened from July 25. Only light and medium vehicles will be allowed to travel on the left side of NH-58 for travel from Delhi to Haridwar.
The administration has taken stern measures as the movement of Kanwariyas is reaching its peak in the last week of July till Shivaratri on August 2. All types of vehicles will be banned entirely from plying on NH-58 and Delhi-Meerut Expressway between Haridwar and Meerut from July 29 to August 4.
