The Kolkata High Court has directed the Kolkata Metro Railway Authority to consider a Public Interest Litigation (PIL). In which there was a demand to increase the time of the last train by about 45 minutes.
The petitioner's counsel said that the last metro train running on the popular North-South route in Kolkata leaves at 9.40 pm from Dum Dum in the north and Kavi Subhash station in the south.
The attorney further asserted that the final train in practically every other metro rail service in the nation departs the starting station at approximately 11:00 p.m. In the best interests of passengers, the petitioner requested that the Kolkata Metro Railway's final train depart from its current time by 45 to 50 minutes.
