The collision was so destructive that the Scorpio was completely destroyed. The fuel tanks of both vehicles burst, igniting flames. The accident scene was on the highway, and the five friends inside the Scorpio were engulfed in the fire.
Villagers, hearing the explosion, rushed to aid. They attempted to rescue those trapped in the truck and Scorpio, but the fire spread rapidly, making approach hazardous. Police and fire brigades were quickly notified.
Teams from Sindhri Police, RGT Company, and Balotra Municipal Council firefighting units arrived soon after. After about an hour, they controlled the fire, but both vehicles had been reduced to ashes.
Four victims—Mohan Singh, Shambhu Singh, Pancharam, and Prakash, all from Dabad in Gudamalani—died instantly. The Scorpio driver, Dilip Singh, son of Mag Singh, suffered severe burns and was transported to Sindhari Hospital. After first aid, he was referred to Balotra, with doctors describing his condition as critical.
Following the accident, the charred vehicles remained on the road, causing a nearly two-kilometer traffic jam on the mega highway. Traffic backed up for hours. Police and officials, assisted by fire services, carried out relief efforts until around 2:30 am. Once the fire was extinguished, the vehicles were removed with a crane, and the highway reopened about two hours later.
Sindhari police in charge stated that the victims were completely burned, making identification difficult. Their families have been notified. The bodies will be identified via DNA testing and handed over afterward. An investigation has been initiated, and a case has been registered.
