Amidst the World Cup, New Zealand players along with their families met religious leader Dalai Lama

After Sunday's match against India, the New Zealand cricket team and their families met religious leader Dalai Lama at his residence in McLeodganj on Tuesday. The players of the main Buddhist temple team had arrived under the leadership of Captain Tom Lathan. During this, the Dalai Lama also had a light conversation with the players. Some players also took his blessings.

An official of the Dalai Lama's office told IANS that the Dalai Lama enjoyed meeting the New Zealand team. The Dalai Lama pleased him by allowing him to be photographed with him. Let us tell you that now the New Zealand team has to play against Australia on October 28 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala.

After recently contracting flu, on the advice of doctors, the Dalai Lama had to cancel his visit to Sikkim and Karnataka in November-December. China remains angry with the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Buddhism. He attacked Tibet in 1959. About 80 thousand Tibetans fled to India along with the Dalai Lama. He found refuge in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
