Army's operation to eliminate terrorists in Kashmir is going on. In the year 2022, there were 93 encounters in Kashmir, in which 172 terrorists were killed by security forces. Among the killed terrorists, 42 were foreigners. At the same time, terrorists killed 29 civilians this year, out of which 3 were Kashmiri Pandits. ADGP Vijay Kumar has given this information on Friday.
He told that the maximum number of 108 terrorists were from the banned terrorist organization The Resistance Front / Lashkar-e-Taiba. At the same time, 35 terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed, 22 of Hizbul-Mujahideen, 4 of Al-Badr and 3 of Ansar Ghazwat ul-Hind have been killed in the security forces.
The ADGP said that there was no strike in Kashmir this year. Nor was there any incident of violence and especially stone pelting on the security forces. The Internet has not been shut down in Kashmir in 2022, nor has there been any case related to the funeral of any terrorist.
Except for Hizbul Mujahideen Chief Farooq Nalli and Lashkar Commander Riyaz Setri, all the chiefs and top commanders of terrorist organizations have been neutralized.
ADGP Vijay Kumar said that this year there has been a drop of 37% in the recruitment of terrorists as compared to last year, which is the highest ever. A maximum of 74 terrorists joined Lashkar-e-Taiba, out of which 65 terrorists were eliminated in encounters. Out of these 65, 58 terrorists i.e. 89% were neutralized within the first month of joining the organization.
At the same time, 17 terrorists have been arrested. Presently 18 terrorists recruited this year are active in the valley. Security forces have recovered 360 weapons during encounters and search operations this year. This includes 121 AK series rifles, 8 M4 carbines and 231 pistols.
Terrorists have killed 29 people in Kashmir this year. There were 21 local and 8 migrant labourers. Among the local people, there was 3 Kashmiri Pandits and 15 Muslims. 26 security forces personnel, including 14 Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel, have been martyred in encounters with terrorists.
