Xiaomi 17 launched with Qualcomm's powerful processor and Leica camera, here's the price
Xiaomi has launched its new flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17, in China. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and features a triple rear camera setup tuned by Leica. The phone features a 6.3-inch OLED display with 1.18mm thin bezels and a 7000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.
Chinese phone manufacturer Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 17 at its new hardware launch event on Thursday. The phone is fueled by Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon chipset, which was announced during Snapdragon Summit 2025 on Wednesday. It also boasts three Leica-tuned rear cameras. The Xiaomi 17 comes with 1.18mm thin bezels and a weight of around 191 grams. Xiaomi also released the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max under its flagship smartphone series. The regular Xiaomi 17 is the successor of last year's Xiaomi 15 model and does not have the secondary rear screen of the Pro variants.
The Xiaomi 17 begins at CNY 4,499 (around Rs. 56,000) for the entry-level variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The top-of-the-line variants, with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, are priced at CNY 4,799 (approximately Rs. 60,000) and CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs. 62,000).
The Chinese smartphone maker's new handset, the Xiaomi 17, is offered in Blue, Black, White, and Pink color options. Customers in China can purchase the new phone from the company's online store.
The Xiaomi 17 runs on Android 16-based HyperOS 3, featuring the company's new AI tools suite, HyperAI. It features a 6.3-inch 1.5K (2,656x1,220 pixels) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 3,500 nits peak brightness. The screen has an aspect ratio of 19.6:9 and supports DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR 10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision. The display bezels are 1.18mm thin.

The phone is powered by a new 3nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with an unspecified Adreno GPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. This processor can deliver a peak clock speed of 4.6GHz. It also features the Qualcomm AI Engine, which helps run HyperAI tools.
For photography, it features a triple rear camera setup tuned by Leica, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor (f/1.67 aperture, 23mm focal length), a 50MP telephoto lens (f/2.0), and a 50MP ultrawide-angle sensor (f/2.4 aperture, 102-degree field of view). There's a 50MP selfie camera on the front (f/2.2 aperture, 90-degree field of view). The Xiaomi 17's rear cameras can record 8K video at 30fps and 4K video at up to 60fps.
The standard Xiaomi 17 packs a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support. Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It also has a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. According to Xiaomi, the phone is IP68 rated, making it 10 times more resistant than its predecessor. Its dimensions are 151.1x71.8x8.06mm and it weighs approximately 191 grams.
