WPL Champions Mumbai Indians Rope In Lisa Keightley as New Head Coach
The Mumbai Indians women's team is already the most successful team in the history of the WPL, having won two championships in just three seasons. They were the WPL champions in 2023 and 2025.
Mumbai Indians today appointed two-time World Cup champion and former Australian cricketer Lisa Keightley as the team's women's head coach. Keightley, a two-time World Cup winner with Australia in 1997 and 2005, is among the most accomplished coaches in women's cricket. With her storied playing career and extensive coaching experience in Australia, England, and premier global leagues, she will bring unparalleled experience and vision to the Mumbai Indians team.
The Mumbai Indians ladies' team is already the most triumphant team in WPL history with two championship titles under their belt within the first three seasons. They were WPL champions in 2023 and 2025.

Keightley has coached both the Australia and England women's teams. She was the first woman to become England's full-time head coach. She also has franchise coaching experience in the WBBL, The Hundred, and WPL, and most recently led the Northern Superchargers to the women's title in The Hundred last month. Keightley is known as a stylish opening batsman. She has represented Australia in nine Tests, 82 ODIs, and one T20 International.
