Beta testers in WhatsApp for iOS now appear to be able to invite followers from the channel information page itself. Administrators could invite a maximum of 64 contacts at a time, after which WhatsApp would automatically prepare an “invitation” message containing a quick “preview” of the channel, along with a “Follow” button.

According to reports, WhatsApp uses a temporary broadcast list to avoid spam detection. Therefore, only those who have saved the admin's number will receive the message. The channel invitation feature was first introduced in the Android beta 2.26.1.8 update.

Recently, the company increased the number of advertisements on WhatsApp status updates. There are also reports that the company is working on the addition of new emojis in the default emoji list in the reaction tray. Additionally, the company is working on the development of a peripherals list in the WhatsApp linked devices menu.
