According to the police, Shahrukh had an argument with a passenger on the train. After this, the accused threw petrol at the passenger and set it on fire. This created panic among the people. The seats and luggage of the coach also caught fire and the entire coach was engulfed in flames. The incident took place in the D1 compartment of the Alappuzha-Kannur Express at around 9.30 pm on Sunday night. The train was passing through Elathur in Kozhikode at the time of the incident.
