Thieves stole 10 kg of gold and Rs 38 lakh cash from the SBI branch located in Thumkunta village in Sri Satyasai district of Andhra Pradesh. According to Hindupur police, the theft took place on Sunday, but information was received on Monday. Despite the absence of security guards in the bank and lapses in security, the police are investigating the matter.

Dacoits looted 10 kg of gold and Rs 38 lakh in cash from the Andhra Pradesh SBI branch. There has been no security personnel in this branch for the past four years.

A police officer said on Tuesday that the incident took place in Thumkunta village of Sri Satyasai district. Hindupur police officer KV Mahesh said that the theft took place around 2 o'clock on Sunday. Police came to know about the incident on Monday.

Mahesh said, Rs 38 lakh cash and 10 kg gold were stolen from the Thumkunta SBI branch in Hindupur Mandal. It is suspected that the thieves stayed in this branch of the bank for about two hours. One person was seen in the CCTV footage of the bank.

The police suspect that others may have arrived later. The police inspector had alerted three months ago about the security negligence, but no one paid any attention to it. In the meantime, the police have filed a case of theft, and the robbers are being traced.
