State Budget Brings Major Development Boost to Jalore Across Tourism, Water and Infrastructure

Jalore district has seen comprehensive development with the recent state budget. In tourism, a bear reserve will be established at Sundhamata, and a wildlife rescue center will be built in Sanchore. The Thar Cultural Circuit will be enhanced, linking Jalore with Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Barmer, fostering tourism employment and highlighting desert culture, folk art, and heritage.

New water sources, high reservoirs, and pump lines will be developed to address water supply shortages in Jalore and Sanchore. A ₹5,900 crore DPR is planned for districts including Banswara, Salumber, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Udaipur, and Jalore. Additionally, a ₹100 crore DPR will focus on water harvesting in the Anas River, and a ₹2 crore DPR will improve water storage capacity of the Narmada Canal Project in Sanchor. In Ahor (Bawarla), dam and canal renovations will be undertaken with ₹7 crore, and ₹5 crore has been allocated for an STP in Jalore-Sanchor.

Road infrastructure will benefit from a ₹12 crore fund for double-laning a 12 km stretch from Bawatra Seema to Padru-Mithoda. Other projects include ₹10 crore for roads such as Chhiparwada-Medauparla-Dudsi-Pyaau Bagra and Chandrai-Nibla (30 km), ₹10.30 crore for various roads including Bhagli Singhalan-Chitrahani-Jhardaji border, ₹60 lakh for Mamawali-Wadeli road, and ₹5 crore for culverts and roads in Raniwada. Work on the 4 km Sanchore road (Dabal-Talaviyanadi-Gogaji) and repairs on LC-113 and LC-10 will also proceed.

In energy and urban development, a 33/11 kV GSS will be built in Sayla, along with enhanced street lighting. The agricultural sector will see the creation of an Assistant Director of Agricultural Extension’s office in Sanchore, improved facilities at Sayla’s Anaar Mandi, and a new veterinary institute in Sayla. Poultry and cattle product promotion will continue.
