Starlink satellite internet launched in neighboring country before India; Know the shocking price

Elon Musk's satellite internet service Starlink (Starlink Satellite Internet) has been launched in Bhutan, a neighboring country of India. Starlink owner Elon Musk has informed on social media platform X that satellite internet service was launched in Bhutan. The process was initiated in December of 2024. Starlink service has been awaited in India for a long time.

This service is also needed in Bhutan, as Bhutan is a hilly place, so it is very difficult to provide internet here using optical fiber cable and mobile towers. In such a situation, it is easy to provide high-speed internet through satellite.

If you are thinking that satellite internet will be cheap, then it is not so. The Information Department of Bhutan has fixed the price of Starlink. Under this, the price of the Residential Lite Plan is around Nu 3,000 in Bhutanese currency, which is around Rs 3,001 per month. It offers speeds ranging from 23 Mbps to 100 Mbps. The price of Standard Residential Plan is Nu 4,200 i.e. around Rs 4,201 per month, which offers speeds ranging from 25 Mbps to 110 Mbps. The price of satellite internet is much higher than that of local telecom operators.
