Quinton de Kock’s Blazing 90 Powers South Africa to 213/4 Against India in 2nd T20
IND vs SA 2nd T20: South African batsmen thrashed the Indian bowlers in Mullanpur, setting several records.
While playing the second match of their series with India in India, in a match being staged in Mullanpur, a blistering knock of 90 runs was played by Quinton de Kock of South Africa. De Kock, along with Markram, Ferreira, and other players, allowed India a target of 214 runs while batting against India. De Kock missed a T20 century for a second successive match.
This match between India and Afghanistan, being played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in a town named Mullanpur, started with India winning the toss and opting to bowl. The initial partnership of 38 runs in 4.1 overs between Hendricks and De Kock consisted of Hendricks scoring 8 runs. De Kock then took charge along with captain Aiden Markram. The two experienced players added 83 runs for the second wicket in 47 balls to take the visitors to 121. Markram then departed after scoring 29 runs off 26 balls.
Quinton de Kock then added 35 runs for the third wicket with Dewald Brevis. De Kock was run out on 90. His 46-ball innings included 7 sixes and 5 fours. This was the third-highest innings by a South African batsman in T20 cricket against India. David Miller had scored an unbeaten 106 in Guwahati in 2022, while Rilee Rossouw had scored an unbeaten 100 against India in Indore in 2022.
