Shefali Verma Makes Comeback as Pratika Rawal Ruled Out of World Cup Semi-Final
Shafali Verma has been named as a replacement for Pratika Rawal. Shefali Verma has scored a total of 644 runs in 29 matches for the Indian women's cricket team, including four half-centuries.
The second women's ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025 semi-final match between India and Australia will take place on October 30 at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Shefali Verma has been included in the team in place of Indian opener Pratika Rawal for this game. The International Cricket Council (ICC) also ratified her inclusion in the team.
Pratika Rawal was hurt when she fielded in the last league game of the tournament against Bangladesh on Sunday. She rolled her right ankle over. The accident happened in the 21st over of Bangladesh's innings. She was later supported by physios and support staff.
When the Indian team was picked for the ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025, Shefali Verma did not find a place. Now, she has been selected as an opener in the World Cup semi-final against Australia, replacing the injured Pratika Rawal. She has a golden opportunity to prove herself.
