Shafali Verma New Records: Indian women's cricket team opening batswoman, Shafali Verma, played an incredible innings in the second T20 match against Sri Lanka, hitting an unbeaten 69 off just 34 deliveries, including 11 fours and one six, as India won the match by seven wickets. Along with this, she also marked a record as the youngest female cricketer to hit fifty in T20Is, as she reached this milestone at just 21 years of age. Along with this, in this match, one of the major records of Smriti Mandhana, Deepti, and Jemimah was also smashed.

Shefali has played a total of 92 T20 matches in her entire career so far. She has also scored 2,299 runs in these matches, thereby maintaining an average of 26.73. Shefali has also achieved a total of 12 half-centuries in these years. West Indies' Stafanie Taylor and Ireland's Gaby Lewis are jointly in second place in this list, having scored 10 half-centuries at the age of 21. While Indian star batsman Jemimah Rodrigues is in third place with 7 half-centuries.

Shefali Verma was awarded the Player of the Match (PoTM) award for her match-winning innings against Sri Lanka. This is her 8th award. She has now become the third Indian woman player in T20 International cricket, after Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet, to win the most Player of the Match awards. She surpassed Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, and Jemimah Rodrigues in this regard.
