Rohit-Virat will not play in the domestic T20 series against New Zealand

T20 captain Hardik Pandya can be there during the home series with New Zealand, while Virat and Rohit will not be part of this team. However, the squad for the home series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches against New Zealand is yet to be announced. The new selection committee will announce this team. The series of the first 3 ODIs with New Zealand will start on 18 January. After that, the T20 series will be played from 27 January.
According to media reports, senior players Virat and Rohit Sharma can be rested from the T20 series. Talking to a sports website, an official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India said that the names Rohit and Virat will not be considered for the 3 T20 series during the home series with New Zealand.
Senior players like Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and R Ashwin are already out of the T20 plans.
Actually, this year ODI World Cup is to be played in India only in October-November. Recently, in the review meeting of BCCI, many important decisions were taken keeping in mind the ODI World Cup. It was said to prepare a list of 20 players for the ODI World Cup and it was also decided to try these 20 players in the next matches.
However, the names of the 20 players included in that list have not been announced yet. But it is believed that all the players included in the ODI series against Sri Lanka including Rohit, and Virat will be involved in this. Apart from these, Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah, who were injured in a car accident, will also be included if they are fit. In the review meeting, it has also been said to take important steps to save senior players from injury.
Rohit and Virat Kohli have also been rested in the 3 T20 series being played against Sri Lanka. At the same time, the team is being captained by Hardik Pandya, while Vice Captain Suryakumar Yadav has been made. Shubman Gill, Shivam Mavi and Rahul Tripathi were tried in this series. So far two matches have been played and India and Sri Lanka have won 1-1 matches. And now the last match is to be played in Rajkot. The series will be decided on the basis of this match.

Team India coach Rahul Dravid has also indicated in a conversation with the media after the second T20 match played in Pune on Thursday that only young players will be given a chance in T20. Team India will be of youth in the T20 World Cup to be held in 2024.
