Rafale and Sukhoi will thunder on LAC: 'Holocaust' maneuvers will run from February 1 to 5 in the Northeast

Amid tensions in the Northeast, the Indian Air Force will conduct an aerial combat exercise early next month. Its name has been given 'Holocaust'. The Indian Air Force has activated the S-400 air defence squadron by deploying it in the eastern sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Its specialty is that it can intercept any aircraft or missile from a distance of up to 400 km.
From February 1 to 5, fighter planes will fly from Hasimara, Tezpur and Chabua airports for a show of strength. Drones, helicopters and fighter aircraft will show their strength in other states including Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam. This will include Rafale and Sukhoi-30, C130J Hercules, Chinook heavy lift, Apache attack helicopters and drones.
The two-day air exercise was conducted after the December 9 skirmish between Indian and Chinese troops in Yangtse in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. Since then it is the second-largest command-level exercise. In view of the ever-increasing activities of China on the border, China will be retaliated with this exercise. In the last three years, China has deployed 50,000 soldiers along the border with India in eastern Ladakh, who also have a large number of weapons.
China is increasing its activities on the 3, 488 km long LAC. It has also taken forward the development of infrastructure in the Bhutanese sector of Doklam. China has expanded and upgraded its major airbases Hotan, Kashgar, Gargunsa and Shigatse.
At the same time, the Indian Air Force in Shillong is monitoring the border with China from the north-eastern airfields, so that whenever the Chinese army tries to fly close to the LAC or move towards Indian positions there, it can be repulsed.
