PSG reached the Champions League semi-finals with a total aggregate of 5-4 with the aid of early goals by Achraf Hakimi as well as Nuno Mendes. The second leg saw PSG lose to Aston Villa by 3-2.

After their loss by 3-1 in the first leg in Paris, Aston Villa attempted to mount a comeback and registered two corners in four minutes to start with. But PSG had to make amends in double quick time, which they did with full effect. Based on UEFA's report, Nuno Mendes provided an excellent pass to Bradley Barcola, whose cross from the byline was blocked by goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, but which rebound fell to Hakimi. Hakimi scored with precision.

Then Gianluigi Donnarumma wonderfully saved Pau Torres' shot, subsequently scoring himself after another excellent counter-attack by Nuno Mendes through a post.

11 minutes before the break, a swerving shot from Youri Tielemans went into the net off William Paco's touch. Then, Captain John McGinn benefited from a deflection when his long-range shot went over Donnarumma.

Captain John McGinn benefited from a deflection when his long-range shot went over Donnarumma. Shortly after, Donnarumma was all set to keep out Marcus Rashford's shot from the edge of the penalty area.

The Italian was hard to do anything about when Ezri Konsa scored Villa's third after a superb move by Rashford. Tielemans could have then equalised the Premier League club's total score, but Donnarumma made a brilliant save to stop his powerful header.

In the last ten minutes, Donnarumma also stopped Marco Asensio's shot with his feet. In the last moments, Pacho saved the team by stopping Ian Masters' shot going towards the goal.

Finally, Luis Enrique's team kept composure under pressure and ended Villa's memorable first performance in the Champions League.

After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique said, "I will not be able to forget this match for a long time. There is a lot to handle in this competition, and it is always difficult to play away. We scored two goals in the beginning, but then made some mistakes, which cost us. When you concede two goals in three minutes, it becomes difficult to come back. But such situations make us stronger."
