The Baleno is currently sold in 1.2LK series petrol and 1.0L Turbo BoosterJet petrol engine options.
It is purported to employ a range-extended hybrid system that was developed internally and can achieve over 35 kilometres per litre. The Indo-Japanese manufacturer will equip the next-generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno with a hybrid system. The petrol engine in this system dubbed the HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), will serve as a range extender.
