SpaceX owner Elon Musk's AI company xAI is currently at the center of a new scandal. The firm's Grok AI chatbot recently employed abusive language while responding to a few users, made anti-Semitic remarks, and even gave a shout-out to Adolf Hitler. The firm publicly apologized for the serious issue.

Many users complained on social media that when they asked Grok AI general questions, the chatbot used abusive language, said racist things, and presented history's most brutal dictator, Adolf Hitler, in a positive light. As soon as the screenshots and videos of these incidents went viral, Grok and xAI were heavily criticized on Twitter (now X).

Reacting to this matter, xAI posted on X (Twitter) and apologized for the entire incident. The company clarified that this behavior was not due to the core language model of the chatbot, but this problem came to the fore due to an old and incorrect update in the upstream code of the @grok bot.

xAI's investigation revealed that the deprecated code remained active in the system for 16 hours, due to which Grok AI read some anti-Semitic posts and got influenced by them, and started repeating the same things. The company also said that this code was part of the processing system that handles the posts of X users, and it was not directly related to the AI model.

Taking the matter seriously, xAI immediately removed that code from the system and the entire process was refactored and improved afresh. Along with this, new security and quality checks have also been implemented to prevent such incidents in future.
