Misappropriation in the appointment of 25 thousand guest teachers in Delhi: Many teachers do not have names in the school, yet the salary was distributed, LG ordered an inquiry
After the excise policy scam in Delhi and the scam in the Waqf Board, the Arvind Kejriwal government is now being accused of rigging in the appointment of guest teachers in government schools. On Thursday, Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena ordered an internal inquiry regarding the matter.
The LG Secretariat has written a letter to the Chief Secretary for investigation. In this, the case of embezzlement of salary in the name of fake guest teachers will also be investigated. In this letter written to the Director of Education, the status report of physical attendance and salary withdrawal of guest teachers appointed in government schools has been sought. This report has been directed to be submitted within a month.
Questions are also being raised on the recruitment process of 25,000 guest teachers in Delhi. A recent audit has also revealed a case of falsification. It was found that in the name of guest teachers in the Senior Secondary School (GBSSS-I) of Mansarovar Park, Delhi, three people were given a salary of Rs. Saxena had ordered an inquiry last week against four vice principals of a Delhi government school in connection with the embezzlement of money. The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) is investigating the matter.
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly and BJP MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri has requested the Lieutenant Governor to release a white paper on the education model of Delhi. Bidhuri said- Science-commerce is not taught in 745 out of 1027 government schools. In the last seven years, the number of children studying in government schools has come down by one lakh.
There are more than 100 children in a class, whereas according to the standard, there should not be more than 40 children in a class. He further said that for several months in 12 colleges in Delhi, teachers and employees were not getting their salaries. Bidhuri said that in the name of a world-class education model, efforts are being made to cheat the entire country.
