The host team has won the third match of the India-England five-match Test series by 22 runs. England now leads 2-1 in this series. The Indian cricket team received a target of 193 runs to win the third Test, to which Team India's innings was cut down to 170 runs on the fifth day.

The bowlers of the England team completely dominated India's second innings. The Indian team had lost four important wickets while chasing the target on the fourth day itself. On the fifth day, except for Ravindra Jadeja, no batsman could score runs against the English bowlers. Jadeja tried his best to take the match closer by making crucial partnerships with the lower-order batsmen after the main batsmen got out early.

Jadeja remained unbeaten by scoring 61 runs on 181 balls patiently, but he did not get enough support from the other end. Despite this, players like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj showed great spirit to stay at the crease by playing 54 and 30 balls respectively. However, Mohammad Siraj was unfortunately bowled by Shoaib Bashir in the end and India's innings ended at 170 runs.
