India’s Jasmine Lamboria Defeats Poland’s Julia Seremeta to Clinch World Boxing Gold

Indian boxer Jasmine Lamboria made history by winning the gold medal in the 57 kg category at the 2025 World Boxing Championship. She defeated Poland's Julia Seremeta in the final, securing her country's first gold of the tournament.

According to media reports, Jasmine fell behind in the first round. However, she made a remarkable comeback in the second round and then achieved consecutive victories, defeating Julia of Poland with a score of 4-1 and claiming the gold medal. Jasmine appeared very happy after her win. She mentioned that she had been out of competition for a while due to poor performance at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Earlier in the semi-finals of the women's 57 kg category, Jasmine delivered a dominant 5-0 victory over Omalin Alcala of Venezuela. Additionally, India's Nupur Sharon secured the silver medal in the women's 80+ kg category, losing to Agata Kaczmarska of Poland in the final.

Meanwhile, Indian woman boxer Pooja Rani took home the bronze after losing in the semi-finals of the 80 kg category. This marks the first World Championship under the auspices of the World Boxing Council with a 20-member Indian team. India aims to excel in both men's and women's categories.
