According to media reports, Jasmine fell behind in the first round. However, she made a remarkable comeback in the second round and then achieved consecutive victories, defeating Julia of Poland with a score of 4-1 and claiming the gold medal. Jasmine appeared very happy after her win. She mentioned that she had been out of competition for a while due to poor performance at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Earlier in the semi-finals of the women's 57 kg category, Jasmine delivered a dominant 5-0 victory over Omalin Alcala of Venezuela. Additionally, India's Nupur Sharon secured the silver medal in the women's 80+ kg category, losing to Agata Kaczmarska of Poland in the final.
Meanwhile, Indian woman boxer Pooja Rani took home the bronze after losing in the semi-finals of the 80 kg category. This marks the first World Championship under the auspices of the World Boxing Council with a 20-member Indian team. India aims to excel in both men's and women's categories.
