India's first outdoor liquid tree installed in DS Group, important from environmental point of view
DS Group: The installation named Liquid Tree located at DS headquarters in Noida will prove to be important in the fight against climate change and urban air pollution. It contains a solution of 1600 liters of microalgae inside a cubic structure that absorbs carbon dioxide equivalent to 6 mature trees. Let's know more about this.

FMCG group, Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group) has partnered with a climate technology startup, Liquid Trees. The aim of this collaboration is to promote urban sustainability. Together, the two unveiled India's first outdoor liquid tree. The installation named Liquid Tree located at DS headquarters in Noida will prove to be important in the fight against climate change and urban air pollution. It contains a solution of 1600 liters of microalgae inside a cubic structure that absorbs carbon dioxide equivalent to 6 mature trees. This structure not only represents a mix of nature, technology, and art but also demonstrates the remarkable potential of microalgae in creating a sustainable environment.
Liquid Tree, an urban photo-bioreactor, is called Liquid Tree due to the presence of microalgae. Microalgae are photosynthetic microorganisms that grow rapidly and provide multiple benefits such as removing particulate matter from the air, sequestering carbon dioxide,e and producing oxygen. While a traditional tree can take years to mature, microalgae can be grown in just a few weeks, making them a viable option for cities where pollution is a serious issue.
Announcing this, Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Vice Chairman, DS Group said, "The establishment of Liquid Tree reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability. This has increasingly become more important for us with the twin challenges of climate change and air quality." He said, "At DS Group, we are committed to supporting initiatives that help contribute towards a healthier India for the present and future generations."
