There is a five-match Test series between England and India under the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Simultaneously, there are some Indian players who have failed to find a position in Team India, because of which they are occupied with county cricket. Among the Indian cricketers involved in county cricket in England is fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed, who has flown back to India mid-way after finishing his stint with his county Essex due to personal reasons.

In fact, Indian fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed signed a two-month contract with Essex in June. He played 2 matches for Essex and took a total of 2 wickets at an average of 64.50. However, he has terminated his contract with Essex due to personal reasons. In this regard, Essex said in a statement, "Although we are sad to see him leave, we fully support Khalil's decision. We are grateful to him for his contribution during his time with us. Everyone at Essex Cricket wishes Khalil all the best for the future."

Khalil Ahmed represented India in 11 ODIs, where he took a total of 15 wickets at an average of 31.00, while in 18 matches of T20 international cricket, he took a total of 16 wickets at an average of 35.12 and an economy of 8.51. Khalil Ahmed played his last ODI for India in August 2019, while the last T20 international match was played in July 2024.
