Nicholas Pooran was the architect of the West Indies victory in the second T20 match played in Guyana. Puran, batting brilliantly, played a stormy inning of 67 runs in just 40 balls. Pooran definitely rocked with the bat, but he lost his temper in the middle ground. Pooran got into a fight with the umpire over a DRS decision, which cost him dearly. Pooran has been fined heavily by the ICC.
In fact, during the fourth over of the Indian innings, a review was taken on the LBW appeal and the decision reached the third umpire. However, Nicholas Pooran clashed with the umpire as to why he was using the player's review when according to him the batsman was clearly not out. Pooran was fined 15 percent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. Along with this, Puran has also got a demerit point.
The West Indies team is leading 2-0 in the five-match series. In the second T20 match, the Caribbean team defeated the Indian team by 2 wickets in a thrilling match. Batting first, Team India scored 152 runs on the scoreboard losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. The Caribbean team achieved this target by losing 8 wickets with 7 balls remaining. Pooran played a brisk inning of 67 runs while batting brilliantly.
West Indies will have a golden opportunity to create history in the third T20 match against India on 8 August. In fact, the Caribbean team has not been able to name a single series against India in the last 17 years. In such a situation, West Indies will have a strong chance of creating history by registering a win in the match played in Guyana.
