The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission. The top variants of Meridian are available with 5-wheel drive. People also like it a lot in terms of look and design.

The Compass uses the same 2.0-liter diesel engine as the Meridian, whereas the top model gets 4-wheel drive. It is being said that the carmaker is offering a discount of up to Rs 1.45 lakh on the 4WD variant. Both these vehicles are quite popular in the Indian market.

Jeep has also recently made some changes in the variant line-up. The Compass is no longer available with the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, while the base 'Limited' trim of the Meridian has been discontinued.
