To advance sustainability, healthcare, and agriculture in India, Google has announced a number of AI-powered partnerships. Improved services across all these domains is the tech giant's aim in doing this. Through artificial intelligence (AI)-powered solutions in the areas of urban waste management, agricultural development, and diabetic retinopathy screening, the tech giant hopes to simplify difficult situations.

It collaborates with national and worldwide organisations to accomplish this. Google said that all these announcements were done during a roundtable conference in Bengaluru, which is also the fifth anniversary of Google's research lab in the city. This has happened after the 10th edition of the Google for India event. In it, Google has unveiled AI capabilities to make things easy from complex on a large scale.

Dr Manish Gupta, Research Director at Google DeepMind, says that the goal of Google is to make people's lives easier. So, the company is ceaselessly working to tackle the challenges. In collaboration with Indian organizations, AI-powered solutions are being attempted for easy understanding of things and also for better health services.

Google is partnering with Forus Health and Aurolab in India and Perceptra in Thailand, providing more than 6 million AI-assisted screenings for diabetic retinopathy over the next decade. AI has an important role to play in this. Especially in resource-limited communities. Already, AI models have played a major role in over 600,000 tests taken around the world.

Sunny Virmani, Group Product Manager of Health AI at Google, said, "We are prepared to utilize the power of AI in a way that makes a difference in people's lives, right from our initial research to the first patient diagnosis done in Madurai, India. Now, our partnership with Forus Health, AuroLab, and Perceptra is helping us further this commitment as a global network of innovators comes together to eradicate preventable blindness caused by diabetic retinopathy."

CirsularNet by Google is AI-powered computer vision to identify and sort plastic waste in recycling facilities, developed with Bengaluru-based Saahas Zero Waste.

Single-handedly, Google's model powered by TensorFlow has achieved close to 85% accuracy in the detection of plastic waste in some form of a pilot program. It is opening up the Google Agricultural Landscape Understanding research API to developers, which will support data-driven decision-making in agriculture.
