Google launches AI-powered FireSat satellite, will help control forest fires
Google has launched the AI-powered satellite FireSat from SpaceX's launch vehicle. It will help government agencies deal with forest fires. Google has created this constellation of FireSat satellites in collaboration with Earth-Fire Alliance Gordon Betty Moore Foundation and Muon Space. The company claims that it will send an alert in 20 minutes.
Google has unveiled the AI-powered satellite FireSat to deal with forest fires. The satellite will issue timely warnings so that the fire is not permitted to spread. It was placed in space a few days ago on the launch vehicle of Elon Musk's company SpaceX. Google's CEO Sundar Pichai has also thanked Elon Musk's SpaceX for supporting this major initiative.
The FireSat AI satellites aim to detect potential wildfires as early as possible in space and issue timely warnings. Google has built this FireSat constellation in collaboration with Earth-Fire Alliance, Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation, and Muon Space.
FireSat's role is to detect fire in forests and inform the relevant authorities at an interval of 20 minutes. Google.org is supporting this initiative. The company has been allocated funding of $ 13 million (Rs 108 crore) to introduce the FireSat satellite constellation.
