England and Wales Cricket Board has declared its playing-11 against India in the fourth Test match, which is to be played on Wednesday. It was expected that Shoaib Bashir would not play in the match, the same has occurred. England has replaced him with a spinner for the first time in eight years. There is no other alteration in the rest of the team.

Bashir was hurt in the third Test match that was played at Lord's. He bowled the final over of the game and denied India any chance of winning by getting the crucial wicket of Mohammad Siraj. But he was in agony. Subsequently, after this, the ECB had informed that he would not play in the subsequent Test match.

In place of Bashir, the ECB had called Liam Dawson in the team. It was believed that he would be able to make a place in the playing-11 after eight years and this is what has happened. Ben Stokes has selected Dawson in the playing-11. This left-arm spinner made his Test debut against India in Chennai in 2016. He played his last match in July 2017.

England's playing-11: Ben Stokes (captain), Jace Crowley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith (wicketkeeper), Liam Dawson, Chris Woakes, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer
